Objectives:
Reduce heating costs and improve efficiency in a high-rent retail space.
Provide consistent warmth at ground level despite high ceilings.
Minimise heat loss from frequent door openings.
Complement the store’s modern, minimalist interior design.
Replace outdated convection heaters with a targeted radiant system.
Key Features:
Replacement of 4 x 2kW convection blow heaters with 2 x 3kW far-infrared bar heaters, a 25% reduction in total wattage.
Wall-mounted bar heaters positioned strategically to radiate heat downwards across the main retail area.
Instant radiant warmth unaffected by draughts or high ceilings.
Smart control capability allowing flexible operation and reduced running times.
Energy-efficient system providing greater heat retention in walls, floors, and clothing displays.
Discover Phase
Conducted a site visit to assess ceiling height, layout, and airflow patterns caused by the automatic front door.
Identified inefficiencies with existing convection heaters and calculated the heat load requirements.
Discussed energy-saving objectives and design preferences with the store manager.
Design & Development Phase
Specified two 3kW near-infrared bar heaters for optimal coverage and rapid response.
Planned heater placement to ensure uniform warmth across the shop floor while maintaining visual harmony with the minimalist interior.
Proposed a solution balancing performance, aesthetics, and cost efficiency within the client’s budget.
Implementation Phase
Installation completed in 3 hours by a single electrician, with minimal disruption to trading hours.
Heaters securely mounted high on the wall, angled to radiate heat evenly across the retail area.
System tested rigorously for safety, performance, and coverage uniformity.
Provided client demonstration and operational handover, ensuring easy control and maintenance.
Results
Even, targeted warmth across the entire shop floor.
25% reduction in energy required compared to the previous system.
Instant heat that’s unaffected by high ceilings or door draughts.
